Today was the first day out for me and Iris that didn't include a trip to the hospital. We ran out after an afternoon feeding to rent a breast pump since I plan to breastfeed for the next few months. The hospital-grade pumps are expensive, and renting is a much cheaper option. I'll have to figure out what to do when it'll be time to be back at work.
We also bought some breastfeeding supplies. Before coming home, we stopped off at Trader Joe's. It was exciting to be out and about. The checkout guy at Trader Joe's commented how small Iris was, and it made us realize that though she's only 8 days old, she was born 2 weeks early.
